Oil Cooler Lines

I see on the European race bikes the lines from the motor to the oil cooler(repositioned behind the number plate) have threaded fittings near the oil filter. Are the stock steel lines coming out of the motor and crossing over to that point used? How is the threaded connection made? Does anyone have any close up pictures?

I think thats the only part of my bike that I haven't got close up pics of, I will be staying in all day (unfortunatley as its the hottest and sunniest day of the year so far) so will get some and its a good excuse to wheel the bike outside!

Oh man...thanks so much. That answers ONE of my questions. I guess I’ll have to buy a set of oil lines and cut off the swedged on rubber hoses to find out what to do with the ends of the metal lines. I’m guessing the ends get flared to receive the fittings...???
I’m always shy about modifying existing parts because I use my X-R to commute(when I’m working) every day. It’s better to buy spare parts and modify them before I put them on. I get suicidal if I have to commute in a four wheeled vehicle. Thank you very much for the shots.
