A few of my former steeds

Postby m5psm » Mon Oct 29, 2018 11:26 pm

Here are few of my older bikes. Some of the images are pillaged from the net.

First bike was a C70. Earnt me my first points at 14 for driving without a licence. Provisonal arrived at 16 with 6 points.

First legal bike. Honda SS50.

First 125. Honda Superdream.
Image

First bike after passing my test back in ‘91 was Honda Benly. As glamorous as it gets.
Image

First courier bike. GSX550ES. Loved this bike. Did over 100k miles in central London in a year. Then got banned.
Image

Another courier bike. CB350S.
Image

My favourite bike ever. TDM850. We just fitted.
Image

This bitch tried to kill me when the front sprocket came off at 120. Managed to stay on, but left a huge black mark on the M2. ZZR1100.
Image

Last bike was a yawn inducing VFR800. Did everything perfectly. Zzz... Bent a car wheel with my shin on this one. Last bike I owned until now.
Image

Had lots more in between, but these are the ones I remember off the top of my head.

Interesting bike history :)
There's usually a Honda C50/70 in every UK bikers history...….Well, maybe I should say, in our typical age group. ;)

I don't think it would be only a UK thing. Prolly an international thing. Honda has sold so many of those things, I think it is there most prolific model ever, worldwide. 8-)
Last night I felt Immortal.
This morning I feel dead.

C50-90 was a right of passage I think. Every biker’s had a chicken at some point

It’s an eclectic mix. Had loads more over the years like gamma 400 (import), TZR250, R1, loads of grey import 400’s, slab sider 1100. Always changed bikes every few months and used to have a bike shop for a couple of years. The above are the ones I kept for a decent amount of time.

Pretty sure the XR will now join that list 8-)

Yep had a C90 when I was at school.

Me and a mate ‘liberated’ it from a bike parking bay where it had stoood for a year, decided it was abandoned and could make better use of it.

Got it going and flogged it as a field bike to someone as we didn’t have a log book 8-)
After me you're first

Also had loads of crossers too up to YZ and KX 500’s. The more I think about it, the more bikes I remember. Husqvarna and CCM supermotards were fun toys.
